As a board certified physician in both internal medicine and anesthesiology, Dr. George Graf is an expert in the fields of pain management and addiction medicine. His professional interests include the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic spine pain and chemical dependency. He has a broad experience in the performance of fluoroscopically assisted spine interventions and is a pioneer in the development of opioid antagonist detoxification under anesthesia.  In addition, Dr. Graf specializes in outpatient opiod detoxification using Buprenorphine which drastically reduces the pain and anxiety associated with mediation withdrawal.

An extensive part of Dr. Graf’s practice is the medical management of acute and chronic pain patients with complicated medical issues.  This often entails a multidisciplinary approach which can include behavioral health modification, physical and occupational rehabilitation as well as interventional modalities.

After serving on the academic faculty at the Yale University School of Medicine, he came to Los Angeles and has been active in the research and development of various anti-nausea and pain medications. Dr. Graf has published numerous articles on various topics in critical care and anesthesia and is currently developing a multidisciplinary rehabilitation and functional restoration program for patients with chronic pain.  He has been featured several times on Entertainment Tonight and has been interviewed by MSNBC as an expert on substance abuse.

Philosophy:  Optimizing patient care by minimizing pain through aggressive management in a comprehensive multidisciplinary fashion. Dr. Graf also believes in the disease concept of chemical dependency.
