Board Certified Neurological Spinal Surgeon
Dr. Amir Vokshoor is a board certified neurosurgeon focusing solely in the treatment of spinal disorders that range from simple degenerative problems to complex reconstructions for tumors, as well as trauma and adult degenerative scoliosis and spondylolisthesis. Using a multi-disciplinary approach, he believes in treating patients through a variety of non-surgical options whenever possible. When surgery is warranted, he uses minimally invasive microsurgical techniques.
Dr. Vokshoor earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia of the Virginia Commonwealth University where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his neurosurgery residency training at the Ohio State University and obtained additional complex spine Fellowship training at the University of South Florida. Having served as the chief of neurosurgery at the Woodland Hills Medical Center, Dr. Vokshoor began his practice with the Kaiser Permanente health system. He served as a North American Board Member of the International Spine Research Society (ARGOS) via collaboration with founding colleagues in Europe and is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the North America Spine Society, and the California Association of Neurological Surgeons. He has made numerous contributions to peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. His research focuses primarily on dynamic stabilization of the spine through motion preservation and tissue restoration and regeneration.
